Before we go any further, please be aware that every staff member starts at The Griffin on the National Minimum Wage for their age. This is set by the government and details can be found here. This is reviewed within 3 months, so if you are on time, work hard and impress us this could quickly go up in line with what you bring to the business.
The Management Team is Lucie (main boss of everything and owner of Dallas Pub Company), Rochelle (HR and Operations), Brixx (Co-owner of Chandos Arms and Kitchen Manager of both sites) and Leon (GM at The Griffin).
Any payroll or onboarding queries please send to manager@griffinwhetstone.pub regardless of which site you are based at.

The purpose of the questionnaire is to see whether you have any health problems that could affect your ability to undertake the role you have been offered, or, place you or others at risk in the workplace.
As a result of this assessment we may recommend adjustments and assistance to enable you to do the job. Our aim is to promote equality and maintain the health of all our employees.

Step 3. The Dallas Pub Company HR Communications Chat
We have a Broadcast Only WhatsApp group for employees of The Dallas Pub Company. Please request to join here and we will accept.
Here you will find all sorts of reminders and announcements from management. There are also polls and questions to test you every now and then :)
Step 4. We need to make sure you are set up on payroll correctly.
Please complete the steps as detailed here in this HMRC New Starter Checklist: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/starter-checklist-for-paye
Simply click the link, and scroll down the page to the green “Start now>” button and enter the required information. Then email the form to manager@griffinwhetstone.pub for processing with Payroll.
Important Points to Note:
1) If you have a P45, unless it is in the same tax year it is not valid. When HMRC ask on that link if you have one, and it was issued before April 5th, then just say “no” when asked if you have one.
2) Until you return all the paperwork from points 1, 2 and 3 above you will not be put on payroll and therefore will not receive pay. The quickest and easiest way to ensure that doesn’t happen is by getting all the information to us.
Steps within Rota Ready:
Now that you have completed these forms you will be sent an invitation from our rota system “Rota Ready”.
This is where you will upload your ID, sign your contract and receive the details of your upcoming shifts.
It is also where you shift swap if needed, and request days off or holiday (once you have accrued it.)

You’ll be prompted to complete important information such as Emergency Contact and Bank Details (you want us to pay you, right?!) the first time you open up the app.
You should receive the invite in the next 24 hours (don’t forget to check your junk!) but if you haven’t please email Rochelle at manager@griffinwhetstone.pub and let her know.
Step 5: Please read through your Job Description and our Company Handbook.
These are essential documents to ensure you do what is expected of you and work in line with our standards and expectations. They are lengthy so grab a cuppa and sit and understand us and how we do things around here - it won’t take long and is really worth it in the long run. We have written these to be as “human” and easy to read as possible so hopefully you wont get bored! You will be sent a copy of your Job Description, Handbook and contract to sign through the “Docusign” in the next few weeks.
